Example Story 1 - Dragon Crochet: I crocheted some art, but I also want to keep my creations, so I didn't want to just submit the things I made. I took a picture of them instead. I crocheted a dragon, their name is Prysm, and a character from one of my favourite book series as a child. Can you guess who it is? It's Percy, from the Rick Riordan series. I loved reading those books when I was younger. I still do, actually. And, you know, I love dragons too. Fantasy is one of the genres I read the most. I remember once I forgot how many books I had at home and the computer wasn't letting me borrow any more, but the librarian came up and let me borrow them anyway as long as I brought the other ones back when I came in next. So I just kept reading and borrowing books and bringing them back. That's why I use the library. There's always something new there that can help me do something. I use it to escape into fantasy worlds, to give me ideas for my own life. I go in and get books that tell me how to do something new, like how to crochet a dragon from a pattern. And it just helps me bring these little spots of joy into my life. I use the library because I can't imagine not using it? Stories are a part of me, and the library gives me stories, even if they aren't in the form of books.

Example Story 2 - Reading Tree and Space: I want to start out with the fact that my parents are big readers. Not everyone I know is, but they are. And so when I didn't like to read they started bringing me to the library to help make me like reading. Reading culture was big for them as children, and they tried to make it the same for me, but it's lost itself a little in Ireland since their time. I still don't like reading much, but I use the library a lot. The first picture is a picture from the library I went to as a child. During the summer they had a lot of reading programmes for children, and my parents brought me to them, again to help inspire a love of reading. As a child you would borrow a book, read it, have your parents sign off that you read it, and then you'd get to write your name on the leaf of the tree. I loved doing it. I just wanted my name on the tree, so I read a lot of books over the summer. It didn't really translate to a lot of reading afterwards, but I still go to the library. That's where the second picture comes in. As a student I use the library as a space to get out of the house and stop procrastinating with my work. I'll use the library space to help keep me from getting distracted at home, and to use the photocopiers/printers. Life would be a lot more expensive if I didn't have the library. The availability of mandatory and supplementary reading for coursework is an important part of why I use the library, because books are expensive especially research related materials. And back home I liked to see the staff that I recognise and like. That connection with people is a big part of using the library for me, and the space that I can use without getting distracted. I don't know how I'd get stuff done for university without the library.

Example Story 3 - My first experience of a library was as a child at our local library and I remember the kids corner always had wooden train-sets for us to play with or prop ourselves against the table to read. This is a representation of this fondness for that experience.
Example Story 4 - Although we had some books at home when I was little, the choice at the public library was huge. One of my favourites was a Dr Seuss book about an overfed goldfish. It grew so big that it had to be moved into a swimming pool. I borrowed that book many times.
